Question

The Member for Mandera South (Hon. Abdul Haro, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) clarify whether there is established a farming contract between Kenya and Zambia, and if so, provide full details of the agreement and comprehensive rationale for the decision? (ii) explain why Kenya would enter into a contractual agreement for maize production with Zambia considering reports that the country is facing a maize shortage crisis? (iii) state the reasons why the Galana-Kulalu Scheme project was abandoned, and indicate if there are any plans in place to ensure the sustainability and prudent management of the project?
