The Member for Kitui Central (Hon. Makali Mulu, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum:- Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) explain the circumstances surrounding the incident involving Master Simon M. Muema, a minor, who at 9 years old and while in Class 3 at Kyethani Primary School, was struck by a loose electricity post on the school premises on 16th December 2017 at around 6:30pm leading to amputation of his arm? (ii) state the specific measures implemented by the Ministry to ensure that the family of the minor receives compensation for the incident, including medical reimbursement, provision of an artificial arm, compensation for mental trauma and compensation for the loss of the right arm, which was amputated? (iii) provide clear timelines for the payment of compensation to the affected family?
